What information do we collect?

  1. Personal Information Provided by You. We collect personal information you voluntarily provide to us when you create an account, express interest in products and/or services, or contact us.

    • The personal information that we collect depends on the context of your interactions with us and the features you choose to use.

    • The personal information we may collect is as follows:

  • Vital Interests - We may process your information where we believe it is necessary to protect your vital interests or the vital interests of a third party, such as situations involving potential threats to the safety of any person.

When and with whom do we share your information?

  • Order Fulfillment - The use of third-party vendors is disclosed at the point of sale when applicable. Only information necessary to process the specific order is shared with the third party vendors. 

  • User-to-User Communication - When you interact on our site in public areas, the information you provide publicly in your interactions will be available in those public areas. Moderators may remove posts of users due to safety concerns.

How do we handle your social logins?

Our Services offer you the ability to register and log in using your third-party social media account details. Where you choose to do this, we will receive certain profile information about you from your social media provider. The profile information we receive may vary depending on the social media provider concerned, but will often include your name, email address, friends list, and profile picture, as well as other information you choose to make public on such a social media platform and choose to share with our site.

How long do we keep your information?

We will only keep your information for as long as it is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Notice unless a longer retention period is required by law. No purpose in this notice will require us to keep your information for longer than the period in which a user has an account with us.

When we have no ongoing business need to collect your information, we will either delete or anonymize your information; in instances where this is not possible, we will ensure that your information is secured until it can be deleted.

How do we keep your information safe?

We have implemented appropriate and reasonable technical and organizational security measures designed to protect the security of any information we process. However, despite our safeguards and efforts to secure your information, no electronic transmission over the Internet or information storage technology can be guaranteed to be 100% secure, so we cannot promise or guarantee that hackers, cybercriminals, or other unauthorized third parties will not be able to defeat our security and improperly collect, access, steal, or modify your information. Although we will do our best to protect your personal information, transmission of personal information to and from our site is at your own risk. Do we collect information from minors?

Depending upon your state of residence or region, you have certain rights under applicable data protection laws; these rights may include the following:

  • access to obtain a copy of your collected information and request rectification or erasure

  • ability to restrict the collection of your information and not be subject to automated collection.

  • data portability (if applicable)

If automated collections produce legal or similarly significant effects, we will inform you, explain the main factors,  and offer a simple way to request human review.

 

In certain circumstances, you may also have the right to object the processing of your information. You can make such a request by contacting us at bff@yourstrulybff.com. We will consider and act upon any request in accordance with applicable data protection laws.

If you are located in the EEA. or UK and you believe we are unlawfully processing your information, you also have the right to complain to your Member State data protection authority or UK data protection authority.

If you are located in Switzerland, you make contact the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner.​​​

As a reminder to all, you have the right to withdraw your consent to collect your information at any time. You can withdraw by contacting us at bff@yourstrulybff.com; you may also update your preferences where applicable (your device, your browser, your internet provider, etc.) and on our site. Please note that withdrawal will not affect lawful collection prior to the request or lawful processing on grounds other than consent.

You may unsubscribe from our promotional communications at any time by clicking on the unsubscribe link in the emails that we send, or by contacting us at bff@yourstrulybff.com. You will then be removed from marketing lists.

If you would to review or change the information in your account or terminate your account, you can login to your account settings and update your user account. Upon your request to terminate your account, we will deactivate or delete your account and information from our active databases. However, we may retain some information in our files to prevent fraud, troubleshoot problems, assist with any investigations, enforce our legal terms and / or comply with applicable legal requirements.

What controls do we have in place for do-not-track features?

Most web browsers and some mobile operating systems and mobile applications include a Do-Not-Track ("DNT") feature or setting you can activate to signal your privacy preference not to have data about your online browsing activities monitored and collected. At this stage, no uniform technology standard for recognizing and implementing DNT signals has been finalized. As such, we do not currently respond to DNT browser signals or any other mechanism that automatically communicates your choice not to be tracked online. If a standard for online tracking is adopted that we can implement in the future, we will inform you about that practice in a revised version of this Privacy Notice.

California law requires us to let you know how we respond to web browser

DNT signals. Because there currently is not an industry or legal standard for recognizing or honoring DNT signals, we do not respond to them at this time.

We recognize and honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals. When we detect a GPC signal from your browser, we will automatically apply your opt-out preference without requiring you to take any additional action. For more information about GPC and how to enable it, visit globalprivacycontrol.org.

Do United States residents have specific privacy rights?

We do not and will not sell collected information.

  • Right to obtain a list of specific third parties to which we have disclosed personal data (as permitted by applicable law, including the privacy law in Minnesota and Oregon)

  • Right to obtain a list of third parties to which we have sold personal data (as permitted by applicable law, including the privacy law in Connecticut)

  • Right to review, understand, question, and depending on where you live, correct how personal data has been profiled (as permitted by applicable law, including the privacy law in Connecticut and Minnesota)

  • Right to limit use and disclosure of sensitive personal data (as permitted by applicable law, including the privacy law in California)

Under certain US state data protection laws, you can designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf. We may deny a request from an authorized agent that does not submit proof that they have been validly authorized to act on your behalf in accordance with applicable laws.

Upon receiving your request, we will need to verify your identity to determine you are the same person about whom we have the information in our system. We will only use personal information provided in your request to verify your identity or authority to make the request. However, if we cannot verify your identity from the information already maintained by us, we may request that you provide additional information for the purposes of verifying your identity and for security or fraud-prevention purposes.
